This is a close up photo of a teen-aged elephant. While on safari in Tarangire National Park we watched elephants of all shapes and sizes anoint their bodies with globs of mud, which is a highly effective form of fly repellant for these large animals with very sensitive skin. There were times when I was ready to join them when the biting flies came our way!
