Circle of Life, an original photograph by Chris Scroggins.
Photograph of a mother cheetah and her four cubs standing watch over a freshly killed Thompson's gazelle. Cheetahs are excellent and patient hunters, often taking two or three hours to bring down their quarry. They hunt in mid-day in an attempt to avoid clashes with other carnivores like lions and hyenas. Even so, cheetahs must be cautious and scan their surroundings before opening up the carcass to feed because the smell will attract vultures and other predators. Cheetahs often must give up their kill to lions and hyenas who outclass them in size and strength.
A framed print of this wild cheetah mother and cubs would be a great gift for anyone who enjoys nature, African wildlife and especially big cats.
