Description

A colorful Baltimore Oriole bird with stunning orange plumage and jet-black head perches on a branch amidst green foliage with an open beak, singing his heart out. This bird is a male Oriole ( Icterus galbula), easily recognizable by his bright coloration and distinctive markings. The Baltimore Oriole is Maryland's State Bird. The bird is a common resident in summertime across much of the US where it breeds, and then migrates to South America in winter.
