Vertical portrait of an extremely handsome, male White-throated Sparrow ( Zonotrichia albicollis ) perching on a pink cherry tree in Timonium, Md. The bird is facing forward, allowing us to see the bright and beautiful yellow markings above the eyes. The feather design on the head of this species of bird has always reminded me of the LA Rams football helmet! A lot of sparrow species ‘ colors are variations of the color brown, but not this one.
