Ha ha! Caws the sea gull as he laughs at the photographer and her attempts to get an unobstructed view of the mighty Alaska Grizzly bear on the beach at Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.

A community of gulls and ravens follow the brown bears in hopes of eating some of the leftover fish the bears find on the beach in gill nets and at the tide line. Sometimes the bears will chase the birds, but it is rarely more than a half-hearted effort, as there is enough food for all in summertime. I can't help but wonder if it the annoying calls of the birds is what irritates the bears, because the sound of the birds' nagging chants were certainly annoying to me!
